The mission of The Loving Avoidant project is to help those with avoidant attachment patterns feel less alone, less broken, less to blame, less doomed, less confused, and more empowered to learn new and fulfilling ways of relating—ones that don’t compromise their values or negate their needs.

About The Loving Avoidant

The Loving Avoidant project began in 2020 as an Instagram account addressing a stark lack of popular resources for avoidant attachers looking to grow. Though this has improved in the last few years, most previously available content often left the avoidant perspective and experience out entirely, or represented it only in surface or overly simplified ways. Too often, this content was even blatantly biased, alienating, or demonizing.

The creator is an avoidant-leaning human with a bachelor’s of science in psychology and an in-progress applied psychology master’s degree. While this formal education journey underpins the content associated with this project, it is also openly derived from personal experiences and observations, exploratory philosophy, hundreds of casual conversations with hundreds of people regarding their attachment experiences, and continuous independent research using both academic and popular sources since 2019.

All associated content is for education purposes only and should not be used as an academic resource, nor is it meant to advise, counsel, diagnose, or prescribe.
